We welcome students from 16 to 60+ to learn English on any of our adult courses. We have over 40 different nationalities studying with us every year and small class sizes of a maximum of just 10 students per class. Courses eligibles for government funding

We provide courses which are eligible for government funding e.g. Erasmus+, PON, Bildungsurlaub and CPF.


Funding Description

Since 2014, the new Erasmus+ replaces seven existing funding programmes including: Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius and Grundtvig), Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus and Alfa Edulink Programme for cooperation with industrialised countries


Eligibility

Under the Erasmus+ criteria, teaching professionals are eligible to receive funding for the following course at Celtic English Academy


Teacher Development Course

This course is available for primary or secondary school teachers looking to improve their own level of English and gain new ideas and methodologies for use in their own classroom.

The 2-week course has set dates during the year and if you come as a group of minimum 6 teachers, we can organise the course at any time of the year. For more information see our Teacher Development Course section.


How to apply

You have to apply for Erasmus+ funding through your school, organisation, training institute or university. You cannot apply individually.

Application forms are found on the Erasmus+ Website.

When completing the application form, please remember to justify your application by using the Key Action 1 criteria, set out in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide (p31-34). This will make a strong application and increase your likelihood of obtaining funding.

Before you make the application, you will have to register your school on the European portal.

The Teacher Development Courses we offerare aimed at primary or secondary school teachers, of any subject, who wish to improve their own level of Spanish and develop innovative practice for teaching Spanish in the classroom.

TEACHER DEVELOPMENT COURSES DESCRIPTION

All teachers will have the opportunity to visit a local school to gain an insight into primary or secondary education in Spain*. You will also have the opportunity for micro-teaching, peer feedback, exchanging ideas and networking with other teachers from Europe or across the world in your class. Language input sessions will focus on developing your own Spanish language skills as well.

You will be required to study 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday, following materials provided by the School.

One day per week will be spent visiting a local primary or secondary school to gain insight into the British education system.*

WHO IS TEACHER DEVELOPMENT COURSES FOR?
  • Qualified and practicing teachers of Spanish in their own country (primary or secondary level).
  • Qualified and practicing teachers of any subject in their own country that may require delivery in the medium of Spanish (primary or secondary level).
  • Teachers who are eligible for Erasmus+ funding.
  • Teachers who wish to gain an insight into the Spanish education system.
  • Teachers looking to network and exchange ideas with their peers.
